Illawarra Performing Arts Centre – IMB Theatre
Wollongong, NSW 2500 Australia 02 4224 5999 http://www.merrigong.com.au/
Located in the heart of Wollongong’s Arts Precinct, Illawarra Performing Arts Centre (IPAC) is the region’s most loved and respected venue for the performing arts. Comprising three versatile spaces, it plays host to a variety of events, from internationally renowned theatre, music and comedy to a wide range of community events.
In the classic tradition of the proscenium arch lyric theatre, the IMB Theatre’s steeply raked auditorium ensures every seat is the best in the house. With excellent sight lines, the audience is immersed in the action on stage.
With fixed raked seating that can be supplemented by additional seating in front of the stage area, this space is ideal for theatre and dance performances. Affordable hiring rates make it an ideal venue for smaller companies to present new work.
Illawarra Performing Arts Centre is located at 32 Burelli Street, Wollongong.
On-street parking is available in the areas around IPAC. Pay and display machines operate on a number of parking spaces in the city centre. Patrons are advised to check restrictions before leaving their vehicle.
There are limited disabled parking spaces, 1/4 hour parking and drop-off zones on Burelli Street outside IPAC. Street parking is free on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays but time may apply. Please be sure to read street signs carefully.
Council operates two off-street car parks located within 5 minutes walk of Wollongong Arts Precinct:
– Burelli Street East Car Park (former Dwyer’s site)
– Stewart Street East Car Park
For both sites, parking fees apply during weekdays. Parking is free and without time restrictions after 4.30pm (on weekdays), weekends and public holidays.
Undercover Car Parks
